AW21 CAMPAIGN
AW21 Campaign references inspiration from the visual language of anime to alienate the daily scenes and construct the future landscape in nonlinear time.
From the perspective of anthropocentrism resultant from intensive labor, the city is the subject while the nature is marginalized to be the “spectacle”. Driven by production, human desire constantly increases, and so do the barriers among people and between people and selves, which make the changes in the natural landscape and mark how mankind becomes obsessed with and immersed in the surface of the world. Inner selves are estranged from the outside world, universe and others due to excessive desires and self-projection.
Looking ahead into the future development, the return to inner connections at the level of self-consciousness could be mankind’s sole resistance against the sense of loss resulted from the rapid advances in science, technology and revolutionary theories. By the measure of the vast universe, destruction and recurrence will become the new normal. Human beings’ introspection and desire for love could be the only existence transcending space and time.
In the spirit world, facing the abyss of desire, human unconsciousness built on superficial judgement is changed by love and by transformation of consciousness. Initial experiences and memories are awakened and converging space of romance is formed by both the inner subject and its physical surrounding. Eternity is achieved in the existing time dimension.
